Guests can get to Asahiyama Zoo on an easy day trip with Hoshino Resorts TOMAMU busliner during winter time. The bus takes visitors from Tomamu, through the town of Furano and on to the zoo. Asahiyama Zoo has been specially designed to keep the animal habitats as natural as possible while enabling visitors to view the animals from a number of different vantage points without disturbing their natural behaviours. In winter you can observe the animals as they frolic in the snow - the Red Panda in particular can often be seen out playing and rolling in the snow while trying to woo their prospective mating partners. Other attractions include the Penguin Walk, Polar Bears, Arctic Foxes and Reindeers.
